Business English

If you’re looking to prepare your current English language skills to assist in a corporate environment, a Business English (or English for Business Communication) course is the one for you.

This type of course requires you to have at least an intermediate level of English prior to a General English course.  This is necessary to meet the linguistic requirements for admission.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Courses of Business English focus on the development of a commercial vocabulary and writing and oral skills for public speaking and presentations.

Schools may apply different learning modules focusing on a variety of themes. Some examples are:

  •  Administration
  • Tourism
  • Marketing & Sales
  • Management
  • Customer Service
  • Intercultural communication

Business English courses usually run for a period of 12 weeks and may be customised, depending upon specific needs. They have a weekly intake on Monday.

Upon completion of the course it is possible to sit the Business English Certificate (BEC) exam that is divided into three categories:

  1.  Preliminary: corresponding to European level B1 (Intermediate)
  2. Vantage: corresponding to European level B2 (Upper Intermediate)
  3. Higher: corresponding to European level C1 1 (Advanced)
